Information Sought in Death of Transvestite Prostitute
[BAKERSFIELD, CA] - The Kern County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in finding the killer of Porfiro Mejia, a known transvestite who frequented bars in the Delano area.
Mejia, who went by the nicknames Daisey and Flora Blanca, was found dead Aug. 20 in a grape vineyard just south of Delano. His death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.
Anyone with information on this apparent homicide is asked to call Secret Witness at 322-4040.
Callers with information leading to the arrest of a suspect or suspects in the case may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000. Callers to the Secret Witness program can remain anonymous.
