In The Blue (Film) - Indianapolis, IN


Indiana Historical Society to host In the Blue Premiere

During the Civil War, a young girls dream of betrothal is suddenly dashed when, disguised as a man, she joins the Union Army to provide the much needed financial assistance to her family. Through a series of letters, the audience experiences Ruths transition to life as a soldier. As the atrocities of the war unfold, Ruth is befriended by another soldier who protects her identity. On the battlefield, Ruth comes face to face with the enemy and ultimately, her own death.

Film running time: 30 minutes

The World Premiere Screening of In the Blue will be held in the Indiana History Centers Basile Theater February 12th, 2006. The 2pm event will include special appearances by principal cast members and Civil War Re-enactors, as well as a Q & A session with the filmmakers following the premiere. A second screening of the film will begin at 3pm.

Ticket reservations for the Premiere Event and the second screening can be secured by e-mail request at , with payment at Will Call on the day of the event. The cost is $5 per person. DVD copies of "In the Blue" will be available for purchase at a special rate for the premiere only.
