Description:
ILGA is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to achieving equal human and civil rights for all. Recognizing that gender minorities, including transgender, intersex, and other gender variant members of our society are often singled out for discrimination, our focus is on that segment of society. We support all minorities in the struggle for equal rights.
MISSION: To safeguard and advance the rights of gender variant people, including but not limited to transgendered people, by means of educating and influencing the Congress, state legislatures, county and local municipal governments, and other political organizations. Direct action is not the preferred method, but it will be used where
necessary.
MEMBERSHIP: Open to all. ILGA welcomes everyone who believes in the importance of achieving equal rights for gender variant people. Our members include all sexual orientations and gender identities. Those who identify as transgendered represent all aspects of the transgender spectrum: crossdressers and transsexuals, transgender men and transgender women, friends and family.
