Description:
We are a support and educational organization dedicated to helping people deal with issues of gender identity and/or expression, and those who love us. We are committed to serving all areas of Washington State. Our non-profit corporation is based in Bellingham, WA.
Meetings
The Washington Gender Alliance holds support meetings run by trained peer facilitators to help people who are questioning their gender, coming to terms with their true gender, negotiating coming out, navigating transition, or are looking for information for themselves or a loved one.
In addition to Open Support meetings, we also offer specialized support meetings for Female to Male transsexuals and for family and friends of transgendered people.
Speakers Bureau
The Washington Gender Alliance also maintains a Speakers Bureau. Speakers are available for any school, professional group, or community organization. We have spoken at Western Washington University in the Sociology department, Psychology department, Women's Studies Program, and the LGBT Alliance student group. We have also made presentations for NW PROUD (Bellingham), Links and Alliance youth conference (Everett), Rainbow Train of Senior Services of King County, and FTM 2001: A Gender Odyssey conference in Seattle, among others.
