Deaf Transman chosen as Seattle Pride Honorary Grand Marshall

Drago Renteria of San Francisco, CA, is a Deaf Queer/Trans activist who is passionate about making a difference. He is a pioneer who for the past 20 years has devoted a great portion of his time, energy and resources to educating others and creating change in our community. He is founder of the national Deaf Queer Resource Center (www.deafqueer.org) and his recent work, along with his partner Jennifer Mantle, on transgender awareness has served to open the hearts and minds of people nationwide.
This famous annual Parade is taking place on Sunday, June 25th, starting at 11:00 am in downtown Seattle, from Westlake Park to the Seattle Center. Over 300,000 people are expected to attend.
In addition to serving as Honorary Grand Marshall, Drago will also present a keynote speech from the main Pride stage.
